Utah Geocache Container
Cache containers can be found in all shapes and sizes and differ greatly in appearance. In general cache containers come in tons of different sizes and can be broken down as follows:
Micro- A micro geocache is a container who's total volume is less than 100ml. An example would be a 35 mm film container or any other tiny storage item that only contains a logbook or log-sheat. A “nano” geocache is a small 10ml geocache container that only contains a small log-sheet.
Small – A small canister is one that is 100ml or larger; however, not larger than 1L. An example would be a small tupperware canister.
Regular – A regular cache canister is 1L or larger, but less than 20L. An example would be a big plastic tupperware container or an ammo can roughly the shape of a shoebox.
Large – 20L or larger. Example a large bucket or storage bin.
A Unique and Creative Geocache Container is one that stands out among the rest, in its size profile, and provides a fun and memorable caching experience. A common theme among geocache builders is the birdhouse. The birdhouses are sometimes made to conceal the cache contents; however, keeping animals out. The birdhouse itself may be a puzzle you have to solve to get to the log or they can be easy to enter; however, once inside they reveal a surprise.
Other Creative Geocaches include micros that are camouflaged as everyday objects. Examples being; loose lumber with false bottoms, plastic toys with bison tubes inside, containers that appear to be rocks, or even caches that appear to be bolts; however, are able to be taken apart to reveal a log book.
Whatever the type, these Unique and Creative Geocache Containers provide a fun and memorable experience for the geocacher.
